Soccer Season

Well, it's soccer season. That means we have soccer games every Saturday. It's fun to watch Weston's games. They are a bunch of 6 year olds so there is a lot of "pay attention" yells coming from the side lines. Absolutely none of which come from Corbin! Ok, that's a lie. Some are from Corbin. The only thing that matters to me is that the kids have fun. If Weston's game is first, then he does not like to sit and wait for Bryson's game to be over. He and Deacon fight, cry and beg to go home! Fun times!

Weston

Wes-"Mom, did you have a microwave when you were little?"
Me- "....yes"
Wes- " I designed microwaves when I was in heaven and dropped them down into the stores."
Bryce- "No you didn't"
Wes- "yes I did. Babies are really smart, you know!"
Bryce-"Well, you're not smart."
(Looks at me and says) "just kidding" very quietly with guilty eyes!

My boys are very entertaining!

Idaho

I went to Meridian to help my sisters throw a bridal shower for Ali!! When the plane was getting close to the ground, I saw it....the trees. It was Autumn!! I forget about the seasons living here in AZ. I remember Bryson announcing it was officially fall a while ago but it doesn't mean anything here. It was beautiful. I went for a bike ride with Jeff and Emily and forgot my camera. It was an amazing sight and the air was crisp. Every time I visit Idaho, I want to move there. Same with Corbin! Anyway, my sister's bridal shower was so much fun. It was awesome just being there with my entire family. Corbin and my boys were missing though so I wished they were there. I have the best family. I always laugh so hard when we are all together and I love that we all get along so well. Even the in-laws are a perfect fit for our family. Kristin is my sister. I love her. And Brian is awesome too. It will be fun to get to know him better. I can't wait for him to show his whole personality. (I know we are all a bit intimidating with our good looks!) My siblings are my greatest friends! We also got to celebrate my dad's birthday! We packed alot into the 2 1/2 days I was there. Thanks everybody for a great time. We will see you in a couple weeks for the wedding!

Optometrists are not real dr.s!

Ok, ok. I know the title was kind of mean. But I just found out that my sweet baby boy (Bryson) has been wearing glasses for 1 1/2 years for no reason at all! That's right, I took him to an ophthalmologist today to get his glasses updated. She said his eyes are near perfect and doesn't need to wear glasses. She also told me that the glasses he was wearing were almost just glass. They had the tiniest prescription in them but it wasn't worth anything. Well Nationwide Vision...you got us. Never go to a place that will benefit monetarily from your diagnosis. aka: Nationwide Vision. At least Bryson looked super fly in his glasses since he was just wearing them as an accessory!

Fall is in the Air!

This year has been the first time that I have thought Arizona was beautiful. I have always hated living in the desert and longed for the lush Idaho landscaping. When we moved to our new house at the foot of Black Mountain, I realized just how beautiful the desert can be. The sunsets and flowers and even the wildlife have a unique loveliness about them.

This lizard was by our front door and the boys tried to catch him. They try to act like they are not afraid of lizards when in fact they would never touch one with their hands, just with a cup. I have a video of us out front with the giant lizard.

A very yummy cantelope in our garden!

This roadrunner was in our yard long enough for me to run grab my camera. I got several shots of him before he ran very quickly into the adjacent desert.

Our courtyard is the only space that I have planted plants that look somewhat lush.

A Very Merry Un-Birthday

So I was feeling a little bit like I didn't have anything fun to do and decided to throw the boys an un-birthday party. Well, at least with a cake a some loose balloons. I made them their very own cakes and decorated them beautifully.(I intend on learning how to decorate cakes the next time I get together with my mom and Ali). When Bryson and Weston got home from school, I sang them the Alice and Wonderland version of "A very merry un-birthday to you, to you" etc. They were surprised. Bryson was about to throw up just looking at the cake because he was fed a huge cupcake and ice cream at school for a kids birthday and wanted nothing to do with the cake. Weston on the other hand ate almost the whole thing in about 7 minutes. Because Deacon was home while I made the cakes, he just couldn't wait for the boys to get home. I let him dig into his early. He was very confused about it being his birthday. He kept saying, "today is my birthday?" I would tell him "no, it's your unbirthday. Any day that is not your birthday is your un-birthday". He would nod and then a few minutes later he would ask again, "today is my birthday?" It was fun. All I can say is that when they get older, they better remember what an awesome mom I was because I threw them an un-birthday party.

Sunday

A couple of Sundays ago Bryson came up to me and asked me if he could make a missionary tag to wear. They were all ready for church and we had time so I said sure. When he said that HE wanted to make it, he meant ME. He asked me to do every step. He and Weston were so excited about looking like missionaries that they asked me to take pictures of them. It was so funny because Bryson directed the whole photo shoot. He posed everyone in all different ways. I was cracking up! I would take a picture then he would move everyone to their next pose. He's so creative!
