It's not all fun...especially for Deacon. He is the sweetest, most lovable boy ever. He is also super sensitive. He cries A LOT! If the boys are racing each other and he gets behind, he stops running and starts to cry. Of course the older boys stop running and let him win. As soon as he notices that they are going to let him win, his tears magically go away! It's strange how that works!
We went to the Art Museum with the Grovers and Pooles. We had 10 kids under the age of 9 with 3 adults. Let me just tell you that half way through our tour, we had employees following us EVERYWHERE telling us and the kids every wrong thing that we did. : "no running", "stay close to your mom", "no loud talking", "no touching", "your suppose to be calm", "you are at a museum", etc. They all had their walkie talkies updating each other as to our location. They were tag teaming us. As soon as we would leave one area, there was another employee in the next area to follow closely behind us. I know they were trying to keep the peace but they are just kids. They were very well behaved if you ask me. My boys had their hands in their pockets the whole time. Of course there was some shouts of "look at this" and "wow, it's echoey in here" and maybe a little skipping or slight jogging to catch up to their friends but come on. They are kids. How else are they suppose to see black finger painted canvases or naked lady statues? The art museum is the only way! Don't worry, I stood up for myself. I am not one of those la-di-dah mom's. Every time they said something to me or my kids, I told them " I got it." or "we're fine." I didn't even smile at them. I know....I'm such a rebel.
